Diversity, equity, and inclusion

Creating a culture of belonging

At Hammer, we believe that diversity drives innovation, equity ensures fairness and inclusion fosters collaboration. By valuing the unique perspectives, experiences and talents of our people, we create a workplace where everyone feels they belong and can thrive.

Our commitment to DE&I

As Hammer begins a new chapter as an independent business, we’re at the start of building our own DE&I journey. This is an exciting opportunity to engage with our people, listen to their ideas, and shape policies that make Hammer an even better place to work.

Our legacy has always been about valuing people for who they are and what they bring. We’re carrying that forward and have strong foundations to build upon.

Our aim is simple: to make Hammer a place where everyone can be their authentic self, do their best work, and feel genuinely part of something bigger.

Global Inclusion Programme

We’re developing a unified approach to inclusion across Hammer - connecting every part of our business to a shared framework that will evolve as we grow and learn.

DE&I Awareness Training

All colleagues are trained regularly to help our understand, advocate for and practise inclusion. This includes topics such as unconscious bias, allyship and advocacy through our industry leading learning platform.

Employee-Led Groups

We encourage employee-led groups that raise awareness and provide support for underrepresented communities including women, disability, LGBTQIA+ and neurodiversity. These groups create safe spaces for open conversation and help us shape a culture of belonging.

Community Engagement

We’re building partnerships with local organisations to offer work placements and collaborative projects that create opportunities for students and bring fresh perspectives into our business.

Disability Confident Committed

Hammer Distribution is proud to be a Disability Confident Committed employer. As part of this commitment, we run inclusive and accessible recruitment, clearly promote vacancies, anticipate and provide reasonable adjustments, and support colleagues who acquire a disability or long-term health condition to stay in work.

Hammer Diversity

Representation goals

We’ll measure and track diversity across all levels to ensure we’re making real progress - and identify where more focus is needed.

Voice

Employee voice

We’ll continue to listen to feedback from our teams through surveys, discussions, and focus groups, ensuring everyone has a voice in shaping the future of DE&I at Hammer.
Transparent and Reporting

Transparent and reporting

We’re exploring how to share our DE&I progress publicly, including future gender pay gap and diversity data, as part of our commitment to openness and accountability.

Making an impact

As part of Nexora, we recognise that DE&I isn’t a one-off initiative - it’s an ongoing practice. As we build our independent culture, we’ll continue to learn, evolve, and shape inclusive policies and opportunities that reflect the diverse voices of our people and communities.

We’re proud of the progress so far, but we know there’s more to do - and we’re committed to doing it together.

Join us in building a
diverse future

Our goal is simple: to make Hammer a place where everyone can be their authentic self, do their best work and feel genuinely part of something bigger.

We’d love you to join us on this journey - visit our careers page to hear from our people and see how we’re creating a workplace where difference is valued and everyone can succeed

Inclusive Benefits
Our commitment extends to the benefits we offer including Peppy Health, enhanced maternity, paternity and adoption leave, and flexible working options that support balance and wellbeing.

As we begin a new chapter as Hammer, we’re at the start of building our own diversity, equity, and inclusion journey — one that reflects who we are today and who we want to be tomorrow.
This is an exciting opportunity to listen, learn, and work with our people to shape a culture where everyone can be themselves and thrive. Together, we’ll create a workplace that’s open, fair, and representative of the communities we serve.”
